Hailing from West Virginia, USA, Jason Koon is one of the most successful poker players of all time, specializing in high roller tournaments.
Jason first found his competitive edge in high school as a top track athlete. He began playing poker in college, being taught the rules of the game by a roommate, and quickly realized he had an aptitude for cards and that he could turn it into a career.
Koon is currently 5th on the All Time Money List, with over $42M in live tournament cashes, including multiple high roller tournament victories at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series and World Poker Tour high roller events. He is also an experienced online poker player, having found significant success in tournaments on the digital felt.
He has won one World Series of Poker bracelet so far in his career. His victory came in 2021 at the $25,000 Heads Up Championship. More recently, he defeated Phil Hellmuth in the High Stakes Duel for $1.6 Million and was crowned champion after no one would challenge him.
In addition to his impressive No Limit Hold’em and High Stakes tournament resume, Jason has a passion for Short Deck poker and is a fierce competitor at the Short Deck tables, appearing at the highest stake cash games and tournaments.
As a Global Ambassador, Koon acts in a special capacity at GGPoker. He will focus on strengthening the poker room’s security and game integrity efforts, as well as acting as an advocate for high roller, VIP and high volume players.
